Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: August 19, 2026
The short version. Some links here send you to a brand's or retailer's own website. Where we have an affiliate arrangement with that company, we may earn a commission if you buy something after following the link, at no extra cost to you. We never take a cut of a sale between users of this marketplace.
1. Why This Page Exists
If a company pays us when you follow a link and buy something, that is a material connection between us and them, and you should know about it before you click. US law requires that disclosure to be clear and conspicuous. We also think it is the right way to treat the people who use this site.
This page is the full explanation, not a substitute for disclosure at the link itself. See How We Label Affiliate Links.
2. Our Current Affiliate Relationships
As of the date above, Home Gym Marketplace participates in no affiliate or referral programs and earns no affiliate commissions. Links that leave the site today are plain links. We are paid nothing when you follow them.
We publish this page now because we expect to enter arrangements like these. Everything below describes how we will handle them. We revise this page, and the date on it, whenever that changes.
3. What an Affiliate Link Is
An affiliate link is an ordinary link with a tracking code attached. If you follow it and buy something, the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale or a flat referral fee. You pay their normal price. The commission comes out of their margin, not your pocket, and an affiliate link never gets you a worse price than going direct.
4. Where Affiliate Links Can Appear
If we enter affiliate programs, links of this kind could appear in:
- Links out to a brand's or retailer's website from a vendor profile or storefront;
- Preorder, "shop the brand," or "check price" links on event pages such as HomeGymCon;
- Buying guides, comparisons, and other editorial content we publish;
- Email newsletters we send;
- Posts on our social accounts.
New equipment sold by a manufacturer or retailer is the realistic candidate. Used equipment listed by members of this marketplace is not, and cannot be. See the next section.
5. What We Never Earn a Commission On
We never earn a commission, referral fee, or any other cut of a sale between users of this marketplace. Buy a rack from another member, or sell your bumper plates to one, and nothing is deducted from the money that changes hands. Neither side pays us because the sale happened.
Personal accounts. Buying and selling on a personal account is free. We charge you nothing to list an item, make an offer, or complete a sale, and we earn nothing from your transactions.
Business accounts. Businesses and vendors may pay us fees, such as a subscription for a storefront, listing capacity, or promoted placement. Those fees buy access to software and visibility. They are billed to the business directly and are still not a commission on any sale: nothing is taken out of what a buyer pays a seller.
The no-commission rule is not a policy we could quietly reverse in an affiliate agreement. It is how the Services are built: buyers and sellers arrange payment directly, and we never process, hold, or route that money. Our Terms of Service say the same (§3, Our Role, and §5.F, Fees We Charge), and no affiliate relationship changes it.
6. How We Label Affiliate Links
A disclosure page nobody visits is not a disclosure. Where a link pays us, we mark it at the link: a short, plain label beside it or directly above its section, in the same size and color as the surrounding text, visible before you click rather than after.
If you find a link that pays us and is not labeled, that is our mistake. Tell us and we will fix it.
7. Advertising and Paid Placement
Affiliate commission is not the only way money could reach us. Our Terms of Service (§5.F) reserve the right to offer paid features such as business storefronts, listing capacity, and promoted placement.
Those are separate from affiliate links, and we treat them the same way: anything we are paid to place, we label as paid. Promoted listings, sponsored placements, and advertisements are identified where they appear, so you can tell what earned its spot and what bought it.
8. What These Arrangements Do Not Affect
Outside clearly labeled paid placement, a commercial relationship buys no influence over the site:
- Search results, sort order, and rankings are not adjusted for affiliate partners;
- Whether a brand appears here does not depend on whether we can earn a commission on it;
- Reviews are written by users about their own transactions, and we do not edit, suppress, or reorder them for a partner;
- Nothing a partner pays us buys access to your personal information. See our Privacy Policy;
- Following an affiliate link never changes your price, and skipping one never costs you a feature.
9. Your Choices
You never have to use these links. Type the retailer's address directly, or search for the product yourself. Same price, and we get nothing. That is the cost of telling you plainly how this works.
Following an affiliate link takes you to a third party's website, where their terms and privacy practices govern instead of ours. We do not control third-party sites, their products, or their claims. See our Terms of Service (§13, Third-Party Content and Services).
10. Questions
If you want to know whether a specific link pays us, ask and we will tell you.
