The short version. We check the public prices of home gym equipment on brand websites, usually twice a day per store, one page at a time. We follow robots.txt. If you want us to stop, email us and we will stop the same day.
Who we are
Home Gym Marketplace is a marketplace for home gym equipment. Our price checker identifies itself with this user agent:
HomeGymMarketplaceBot/1.0 (+https://www.homegymmarketplace.com/bot)
What it reads
Only the public product listing a store already publishes for anyone to see: product and variant names, SKUs, current prices, sale prices, and whether each item is in stock. On a Shopify store that is the public product feed. The first time we check a store we also load one product page to confirm its prices are in US dollars.
We keep a history of those prices so shoppers can tell a real sale from a normal price.
What it never does
- It never adds to a cart, checks out, logs in, or submits a form.
- It never reads customer accounts or anything behind a login.
- It never collects personal information about anyone.
- It does not keep your product descriptions or photos.
How often, and how gently
Each store is checked about every 12 hours. Requests go one at a time, with a pause of a few seconds between them, or longer if your robots.txt sets a Crawl-delay. We only ever check one store at a time across our whole system. If your site asks us to slow down, we back off.
How to limit or stop it
Our checker reads your robots.txt once a day and obeys it. To block it, add a group for HomeGymMarketplaceBot, for example:

Or email admin@homegymmarketplace.com with your store's domain and we will stop checking it the same day. If you run the store and would rather share prices with us directly, write to the same address.
